Summer time, Summertime, Sum, Sum, Summertime

Summer is upon us and with that comes the array of fresh fruits and vegetables we love. As tempted as we may be to take a bite of the cucumber, tomato or cutting through the watermelon and cantaloupe - STOP and Wash it first.

The CDC reported last week https://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/africana-06-24/index.html that a 162 people in 25 states have gotten salmonella and 54 people have been hospitalized.


Read the recall so as you shop you know which distributors to not purchase.


As noted in the CDC information:

Most people infected with Salmonella experience diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps.

  • Symptoms usually start 6 hours to 6 days after swallowing the bacteria.

  • Most people recover without treatment after 4 to 7 days.
